Some iPhone X owners report that it struggles to answer incoming calls”

According to some users, whenever they receive an incoming call on their iPhone X, the phone starts ringing but the screen does not wake up. "The display doesn't come back on even when I take away the phone from my ears", the user states. It looks like European and United Kingdom models are free from the problem, but do get in touch with Apple if you've encountered such issues.

These complaints have been posted on Apple's support forums and since December, hundreds of users have reported the same issue.

All in all, while the iPhone X does look really good (I've used one), these bugs can get rather annoying, especially given how much you're paying for the device and the somewhat questionable support we get from Sri Lankan resellers.

Some of the affected users said restoring the software fixes the issue, but it reappears a few hours or days later.

While the change will impact other smartphone brands as well, top rivals such as Samsung and Xiaomi already make most of their Indian phones locally. It is definitely a software issue.

Apple is busy collecting data with regards to the problem and find out the actual number of users who are affected by this issue. Reports claimed recently that many features that Apple was planning to introduce with iOS 12 later this year have been delayed until 2019.

Apple has reportedly notified suppliers that it will cut its iPhone X production target for the first quarter of 2018 by 50 percent to around 20 million units. One potential issue could be down to the sensors in the front of the iPhone not working as they should when a call comes through.

The company has now confirmed that it will offer free repairs to customers experiencing the issue.

In the last three months of 2017 the tech giant posted a record profit of $20.1 billion (£14bn) while revenues were $88.3bn (£61.9bn), up from $78.4bn (£55bn) in the same period previous year.
