Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang may have to wait for Arsenal debut

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang may have to wait for Arsenal debut”

The London club bolstered their forward line by signing the Gabon global from Borussia Dortmund for a club-record fee on Wednesday but Aubameyang, 28, did not fully participate in Thursday's training session due to a fever.

It has been a mixed week for Arsenal, with the positive news of Aubameyang's arrival and Mesut Özil's new contract offset by the 3-1 defeat at Swansea that leaves them clinging on to Champions League qualification via the league.

Arsenal's January window was arguably one of the club's busiest in many years, with many outs and ins at the Emirates Stadium.

"That's where we needed some possible strengthening as well. We have to improve our offensive numbers and defensive numbers". We aren't efficient enough going forward.

Arsenal have officially signed Henrikh Mkhitaryan and Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, but questions remain over which system manager Arsene Wenger will deploy to get the most out of the pair. Over the summer, Alexandre Lacazette joined Arsenal for £46.5 million to end Arsenals striking problems but six months afterwards the hotshot striker Aubameyang has joined the Gunners.

"I don't reassure people because I think we are in a competitive world", he said.

Ozil's new contract is reportedly worth £350,000-a-week, shattering Arsenal's previous highest deal, and Wenger has called on the Germany global to back up his contract by taking a leadership role on the pitch.

"He has committed his future to the club", Wenger told the media, as quoted by Sky Sports. We are flexible - we can play with a back three or four.

"What I expect from him is to lead the team to success [on the pitch]". It will be fascinating to see how this new-look Arsenal team lines up against Everton.
