EPL: Manchester City Drop Point At Turf Moor

EPL: Manchester City Drop Point At Turf Moor”

City return to action next Saturday with a Premier League home game against Leicester City.

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that a Johann Berg Gudmundsson's 82nd minute equaliser ensured that the hosts earned a share of the spoil at Turf Moor.

City were leading through Danilo's 22nd-minute strike but missed a number of chances to finish off the game with Sterling being the worst of them, when he failed to find the target from two yards.

"What they do, they do really, really, well", added the former Barcelona and Bayern Munich coach, who was left to rue his side's missed chances, including an absolute sitter from close range by Raheem Sterling in the 71st minute.

City are now missing David Silva, John Stones, Leroy Sane, Fabian Delph, Gabriel Jesus and Benjamin Mendy but the lack of a youth player to fill the seventh spot meant no one was buying it.

Kyle Walker made a great run down the right flank and Kevin de Bruyne found him with a perfectly weighted pass. "Next day he is going to score a goal. We could take one from the second team, but they had a game yesterday".

Another talking point was Guardiola's decision to name only six substitutes, a decision which Sky Sports pundit Gary Neville called "a joke" ahead of kick-off.

"We missed the last moment to try to score the second one and after, of course playing in the Premier League, especially away in the last 10 minutes with 1-0, anything can happen".

City controlled the flow of play from the onset, but for all their pressure they struggled to break down a resilient Burnley defence early on.

#PEP: We played good. He's an absolutely incredible manager, the work that he has done with this team is unbelievable, and the team performance is absolutely outstanding, it really is. Forget the fact they've spent however much money, six players on the bench... to me it's like a protest. Sterling somehow put the ball wide just one metre out from the empty goal.
