Claim From Italy: Leicester Reject Manchester City's Final Riyad Mahrez Offer”

HAVE ended their interest in Riyad Mahrez after failing to reach a deal with Leicester City.

Leicester City will not allow him to leave unless they receive an extraordinary offer for the 2016 Player of the Year, which would break City's club record 65 million euros spent on French defender Aymeric Laporte on Tuesday.

While the rest of the Leicester squad travel to Merseyside to take on Everton tonight, Mahrez has reportedly gone AWOL to try and secure his transfer.

Regardless of whether he can land Mahrez, Guardiola insisted he has been satisfied with the business City have done in the transfer window. In August he was widely reported to be at an airport ready to fly to Europe if any clubs came in for him.

The Leicester City winger could cost three times as much as Tottenham Hotspur's imminent signing.

That deal will likely go through before the end of the deadline and could be interesting for City and the side he is leaving for.

The Algerian, who won the Premier League title with Leicester in the 2015/16 season, was linked with a move away from the club in the summer transfer window, but nothing ever materialised.

The Foxes are rightly trying to milk big-spending City for as much as they can for the Algerian global winger who has nine goals and assists a piece this season.

While the likes of N'Golo Kante and Danny Drinkwater have moved on, however, Leicester have managed to retain Mahrez for the last two season, despite fielding bids from the likes of Roma and now the Premier League table-toppers.

Pep Guardiola had previously refused to talk about any interest in the winger.
