Trump's Lawyer Denies Reports Mueller Subpoenaed Deutsche Bank Financial Records”

It was reported earlier that as part of his probe into possible collusion between Russian Federation and the Trump campaign, Mr Mueller asked Deutsche Bank to share data on accounts held by Mr Trump and his family.

Bloomberg reported early on Tuesday that Deutsche Bank, the German bank that serves as Trump's biggest lender, had been forced to submit documents about its client relationship with the president after Mueller issued the bank with a subpoena for information.

Deutsche Bank has paid hundreds of millionsdollars in finesto regulators for its involvement in money laundering and other financial crimes, which the lawmakers cited in their request for details about what the bank knows about its dealings with the Trumps.

The Trump family's dealings with Deutsche Bank have been a focus of opponents for months.

Mueller was appointed in May after Trump fired FBI Director James Comey, who had been leading the investigation. Democrats on the House Financial Services Committee asked the bank in May for information about reports that it might have been a conduit for Russian money for the Trump family.

There was no immediate response to the Deutsche Bank subpoena from Trump's lawyers.

In addition, the department said that its various offices have also spent another $3.5 million to help assist the probe, though those expenditures would have occurred "irrespective of the existence of the" special counsel's office. And he also has deep financial entanglements with alleged Russian oligarchs and mobsters. Mueller also disclosed that he secured a guilty plea from George Papadopoulos, who was a junior foreign-policy adviser to the Trump campaign, for lying to the Federal Bureau of Investigation about contacts with Russian operatives.

Mr Trump has repeatedly denied any collusion with Russian Federation, calling the allegations a "witch hunt".

The president declined to say what he would do if Mueller began such an examination, but he continued, "I think that's a violation".

On December 1, Mueller reached a plea agreement with former national security adviser Michael Flynn, who pleaded guilty to giving misleading the Federal Bureau of Investigation about his contacts with then Russian Ambassador to the US, Sergey Kislyak.

But if that's the case, why do so many Trump associates keep getting caught lying about Russian Federation? If Mueller is getting deep into Trump's finances, we may well find out just what he's been working so hard to keep the public from finding out.
