House of Cards final season arrives in 2018 with Claire in spotlight

House of Cards final season arrives in 2018 with Claire in spotlight”

Originally House of Cards was allegedly going to being production on its finale season right after Thanksgiving, but after numerous allegations made against star Kevin Spacey, the show had to make massive changes to the script and direction of the final season.

Ted Sarandos, Netflix's chief content officer, made the announcement during an interview with UBS during an annual media and communications conference.

The eight-episode season will focus on co-star Robin Wright.

Wright plays Claire Underwood, who started out as a less central figure on the show than her husband.

"I can actually give you some news in the room today because we have been in arrangement to produce a sixth season of House of Cards".

The company has now confirmed that work on the sixth season - comprised of eight episodes - will begin in the new year without Spacey.

Of those series, Netflix will continue The Crown, which Sarandos said is the business' "most efficient shows" for obtaining and keeping subscribers.

Finding a way forward for Season 6 was not only important so that fans could have closure, but also so those on the crew of House of Cards would still have jobs. Celebrities were infuriated by his out-of-place response, as was Netflix, who fired him and suspended production for House Of Cards as soon as they heard of his allegedly sick acts.

Netflix has fully parted ways with Spacey, cancelling the "Gore" film it had in the pipeline that was set to star Spacey.

Netflix followed suit, stating it would 'not be involved with any further production of House Of Cards that includes Kevin Spacey'.

Wright's character, Claire Underwood, finished season five by winning election as the first USA female president after wresting power from her husband.

After the first allegation against him surfaced, Spacey issued a widely criticized statement in which he said he did not remember the incident but was sorry for the feelings the actor described, and then pivoted to come out publicly as gay.
