Did Trump Admit To Obstruction Of Justice In Latest Michael Flynn Tweet?

Did Trump Admit To Obstruction Of Justice In Latest Michael Flynn Tweet?”

In a statement Friday, Flynn said he has agreed to cooperate with special counsel Robert Mueller's team in its ongoing investigation into the Kremlin's attempts to influence the 2016 election, including possible coordination with the Trump campaign. Manafort and Gates have pleaded not guilty to the charges against them.

This would blow up about a hundred Trump camp denials that there was coordinated high-level campaign contact with Russian Federation, and would suggest that Russia-related actions personally undertaken by Trump in 2016 (as opposed to merely the actions of his top lieutenants and/or family members) are under law enforcement scrutiny.

A blockbuster report hit Saturday afternoon that Special Counsel Robert Mueller removed an FBI agent from the Russian Federation investigation for reported "anti-Trump bias".

It was the only question by the media about the investigation. It is not clear what the messages said, only that they were apparently conversational responses to campaign news items and were anti-Trump and supportive of Clinton. He is a good guy. Trump adds, "There was nothing to hide!" Afterward, Comey said that Trump had asked him to drop the investigation into Flynn.

People in the White House and beyond are waiting to see the next steps from Mueller, and what Flynn tells him that might direct those next steps. For months, officials have refused to explain why Strzok was reassigned, but people familiar with the matter said it was ultimately Mueller's decision.

Some experts say that if the President did, in fact, know Flynn had lied to the FBI back in February, his efforts to get former FBI Director James Comey to end the investigation into Flynn and then firing Comey in May could be considered obstruction of justice. If Trump knew that Flynn lied to the Federal Bureau of Investigation then this could possibly point to obstruction of justice.

"Immediately upon learning of the allegations, the Special Counsel's Office removed Peter Strzok from the investigation", Peter Carr, a spokesman for Mueller, said in a statement. A variety of news reports say that the the transition official who told Flynn to contact other governments was Jared Kushner, a White House adviser and the president's son-in-law.

In court, prosecutors detailed calls Flynn had made in late December 2016 to the senior Trump transition team at Mar-a-Lago to discuss conversations with then-Russian ambassador to the US, Sergey Kislyak. Mr. Trump seriously entertained the idea but ultimately backed down.

A spokesperson for Mueller's team confirmed to BuzzFeed News that Strzok was no longer assigned part of the investigation.
