Arsene Wenger Trusts Alexandre Lacazette Completely

Arsene Wenger Trusts Alexandre Lacazette Completely”

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has insisted that his side are not underdogs heading into their North London derby with Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.

Victories over Real Madrid and Crystal Palace ahead of the global break have left Mauricio Pochettino's side in a good position in both the Premier League and Champions League as they look to push on from their encouraging finishes to the past two campaigns.

Arsenal have failed to win any of their last six Premier League matches against Spurs.

Arsenal could welcome back two key players for Saturday's crucial North London Derby on Saturday.

Tottenham, which finished third and second in the last two seasons of the Premier League, is already eight points behind first-place Manchester City and is out of the English League Cup.

Asked if Lacazette could be named from kick-off at Emirates Stadium, Wenger said: "The decision is not made yet, but it's a possibility".

Alexandre Lacazette could be in line for a recall with Olivier Giroud set to miss out due to a minor injury.

Santi Cazorla is still a long-term injury doubt, and it's not thought Jack Wilshere will make his first Premier League start of the season. After finishing behind Arsenal for 22 straight years many believe that the tide has turned in North London supremacy. They have won only two of their last 32 away league games, dating to January 1, 1986 - a 3-1 win at Highbury on May 11, 1993 and a 3-2 victory at the Emirates on November 20, 2010.

Both teams have scored on 34 occasions, more than any other fixture in the competition.

There was concerns over whether the English striker will be available for Tottenham's clash with Arsenal on Saturday, but Pochettino has dispelled these fears.

It shouldn't be forgotten that it was Arsenal which ended last season with a trophy - the FA Cup - and Tottenham's critics argue that Mauricio Pochettino's team need to win silverware as a form of validation of its progress.
