Antonio Conte bemoans lack of preparation time for Liverpool match”

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is wary of former Blues forward Mohamed Salah as he insisted a heavy travel schedule could be no excuse for a sub-standard performance against Liverpool at Anfield on Saturday.

Nigeria global, Moses, limped out of the pitch during Chelsea's 2-1 away loss to Crystal Palace on October 14 and has gone on to miss the Blues' last eight games in all competitions.

Furthermore when you take the full backs out of the equation there's so much pressure on those two central defenders it's no wonder they're experiencing such issues.

Salah leads the Premier League scoring charts with nine goals in 12 appearances since joining from Roma for £34 million in the summer.

"Today we had a good training session and tried to prepare for Liverpool very well. I don't think he has to prove something and I don't think he sees it like that".

"However, I think that to get your house at 6am is not simple to rest and recover".

Jurgen Klopp's side looked to be coasting to victory on Spanish soil when they led 3-0 at the break, only to suffer a worrying second-half collapse that once again raised questions over their defensive deficiencies.

"Salah is a good player and is very risky". He's a technical player but at the same time very fast, very strong, very good one v one and a very good finisher.

"They have a good coach, a good identity and great organisation, especially offensively they are very risky so we must pay great attention".

"This was a hard period for the club with things that don't happen normally, so to change the things around with pretty much the same group of players shows the great manager that he is".

Conte watched on and barked orders as his side rehearsed their lines ahead of the must-win game.

On why he chose to shave off his beard, Conte said his daughter's disapproval of it made him remove it. "I consider him one of the best coaches in the world".
