Shin Megami Tensei V is confirmed for the Nintendo Switch”

That's why when Atlus announced that a Shin Megami Tensei game was coming to Switch, we couldn't be sure that it would be Shin Megami Tensei V. It is a brand new, full-fledged sequel exclusive to the Nintendo Switch.

It would have been enough just to see the first fleeting glimpses of the game-which looks handsome in Unreal Engine 4-but the real bombshell is the Switch exclusivity for the upcoming project. The Switch game will be the next mainline title in the series, simply titled Shin Megami Tensei 5. All we really know now is what we already knew before - that a SMT game was being made for the Switch. In the tunnels around Tokyo lie the corpses of devils that died in the city, and the trailer closes when high school students are surrounded, and presumably killed, by devils that still threaten the city's inhabitants.

The last time we saw Shin Megami Tensei was back in 2013 when Shin Megami Tensei IV was released for Nintendo 3DS. The Persona games, for the uninitiated, are a spinoff of this venerable role-playing series, so if you enjoyed what Persona 5 had to offer, you'll no doubt want to jump on the Shin Megami Tensei train from here.
