North Korea agents arrested in China”

This undated picture released from North Korea's official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) on October 29, 2017 shows North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un (C) inspecting the Pyongyang Cosmetics Factory, as his wife Ri Sol-Ju (R) looks on.

These pictures were released through the reclusive state's official Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) on Oct 29.

State media released undated photos of the visit on Sunday.

Kim toured the Pyongyang Cosmetics Factory with other senior officials, according to a report published by KCNA, the state news agency.

Kim's wife, who is shown in the photos, remains largely mysterious to much of the public.

"The variety of cosmetics produced by the factory are numerous and qualitative and that not only pattern of their vessels but packing boxes are very nice", Kim reportedly said, according to The Sun.

While we're used to seeing the hermit kingdom's supreme leader cheerily visiting bomb makers and giggling on the sidelines of ballistic missile tests, he eschewed those macho environments to enjoy the pastel colours and soft lighting of the Pyongyang Cosmetics Factory.

Ri, a former star singer also known for her affinity for luxury fashion, is known to have three children with Kim.

He proudly proclaimed that the dream of "women who want to be more beautiful" had been "realised".

North Korea appears to have developed its own cosmetics industry, with reports of local "high-end" brands such as Bomhyanggi and Unhasu becoming popular with consumers. Her exact age is unknown and she rarely makes public appearances.

In February a year ago, North Korea claimed to have launched a long-range rocket carrying a satellite - just weeks after conducting its fifth nuclear test.

The mosiac commemorates the visit made to the factory by Kim Jong Il in 2003.
