The Minister said being an autonomous body, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) had done its job well in its crackdown on terrorists and separatists. Referring to the ongoing probe by the NIA on funding to militancy in Jammu and Kashmir, Singh said the action has put hurdle in the flow of funds to the militants and their morale was hit badly.

The process to sanitise the Kashmir Valley of terror elements has been catalysed, the Home Minister said, adding, "Everyday, the forces are successful in killing 5-6 terrorists".

Speaking at the inauguration, Rajnath Singh praised the agency, saying it has established its credibility and impartiality in last eight years. He even flagged the issue of circulation of fake Indian currency, describing it as "oxygen for terrorism". In order to celebrate Vishwakarma Jayanthi across the country, Rajnath Singh said he will take up the demand for setting up the Vishwakarma Community Development Corporation with Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He said Prime Minister Narendra Modi had succeeded in bringing worldwide community on board on the issue.

These cases cover the entire spectrum of terrorism-related challenges relevant to India and have involved investigative efforts in 26 states and union territories.
