Thomas, Crowder to be introduced as Cavaliers on Thursday”

He arrived in Cleveland still dealing with hip injury, so it may be some time before Thomas gets the chance to put his motivation into action-packed basketball in an NBA game.

Cleveland Cavaliers guard Isaiah Thomas recently broke his silence following the blockbuster deal from the Boston Celtics, and through a Players' Tribune piece said that his former team "did not get better by making this trade".

Altman added: "We're not going to rush it, at all". However, it remains to be seen exactly when we'll see #3 on the court, as he continues to rehab from an injured hip which could reportedly keep him out of action for months. Boston ultimately agreed to send Cleveland an additional second-round draft pick to complete the swap.

Thomas said that he is "just getting treatment each and every day" and working in the weight room.

The only glimpse about Thomas' timetable came when Cavs coach Tyronn Lue said, "Isaiah's not going to be starting the season".

Originally, the deal consisted of Irving going to the Celtics for Thomas, Jae Crowder, Ante Zizic, and a first round draft pick that the Celtics acquired from the Brooklyn Nets. After doctors in Boston asked Thomas to avoid hip surgery, the guard stuck to his summer of regimen of rehabilitation and rest, with hopes of returning to the court for the 2017-18 National Basketball Association season. "'I just traded you.' Simple as that". LeBron James has given no indication of his plans beyond this upcoming season, and by keeping the pick, the Cavaliers can rebuild right away if he decides to leave. Thomas was unstoppable last season even when they double and triple teamed him. "The good thing about the whole ordeal was I was able to whisper it to my mom before she passed".

"Just a little bit", smiled Thomas, when asked about being underestimated his whole career.

Now Crowder comes back to the team that initially selected him out of Marquette University, looking to fuel the bench as a lockdown defender and knock-down shooter -- one which the Cavs will make great use of coming into the start of the season.

During his 2.5 years with the Celtics, Thomas says he "fell in love with Boston" and was disappointed because he wanted to go down in New England sports history for bringing championships to Boston.
