Patty Jenkins boards 'Wonder Woman 2'

Patty Jenkins boards 'Wonder Woman 2'”

After giving DC its most successful filmWonder Woman this year, Patty Jenkins is officially set to return as the director for its sequel.

After the success of Wonder Woman, the makers announced of its sequel with Gal Gadot returning as the powerful Amazonian Princess with the Lasso of Truth.

The deal is precedent-setting, making Jenkins the highest-paid female filmmaker in history, though getting to this point was "challenging", according to one source. "Wonder Woman" earned $409 million in the United States and $813 million worldwide.

Johns said the overall goal was to "make another great "Wonder Woman" film, and we have no doubt that the team will do a great job!" Lead star Gal Gadot was already wrapped up and now the other major piece of the puzzle is in place with Jenkins signing on to direct the film.

"Wonder Woman", the fourth film in Warner Bros' current iteration of DC Comics' cinematic franchise, helped boost profits for Warner Bros' parent company Time Warner Inc. And about Jenkins, she was the first female director to helm a superhero movie and she eventually nailed the opportunity and put DCEU back on the pack and maintained audiences' trust! And the massive female audience who made the film a hit can surely choose and judge their own icons of progress'.

But considering that the film sparked yet another debate about the issue of Hollywood's huge gender wage gap, many were speculating about whether Jenkins and Gadot could expect a pay rise in the follow-up.

"Wonder Woman 2" is set to be released on December 13, 2019. She originally wanted an amount similar to what Zack Snyder got after he directed Man of Steel.

The Amazon princess reigns over other DC Extended Universe films in the United States box office.
