Wisconsin Badgers to host Notre Dame at Lambeau Field

Wisconsin Badgers to host Notre Dame at Lambeau Field”

A press conference on Monday, August 14, has been announced by officials from Wisconsin and Notre Dame. The Lambeau Field game will count as a Wisconsin home game and the Soldier Field game will be part of Notre Dame's NBC television package.

The joint announcement included Notre Dame Athletic Director Jack Swarbrick and Wisconsin Athletic Director Barry Alvarez, who coordinated Notre Dame's defense in 1988, the last season in which the Irish won a national title.

Interestingly enough, 2020 will mark Notre Dame's first-ever appearance at legendary Lambeau Field, which is named after Curly Lambeau - former Irish player and eventual founder of the Green Bay Packers. That game is scheduled for September 25.

Two teams Minnesota football fans love to hate have agreed to play each other in two stadiums Minnesota football fans dread.

The game will be part of a two-game neutral site series between the two schools. The Fighting Irish are scheduled to play Michigan State this year and in 2026-27, Northwestern in 2018, Michigan in 2018-19, Purdue in 2020-21 and 2024-25 and Ohio State in 2022-23.

Notre Dame does not have any players from the state of Wisconsin now on its roster.

The two teams have not played one another in football since 1964. In addition to a 1929 meeting with the Irish, the Badgers defeated Great Lakes in 1942 and Northern Illinois in 2011.
