Six Police Officers Shot: One Dead, Five Wounded”

A suspect in the fatal shooting of a police officer in Florida and the grave wounding of a sergeant was arrested several hours after the attack in a bar, authorities said Saturday.

Two policemen have died after six law enforcement officers were shot in three different USA cities on Friday night, their respective agencies have confirmed. Authorities say it does not appear that either officer was able to return fire. The department said the police chief would give a briefing later in the night.

Baxter, 27, and Miller scuffled, and the officer called Sgt. Sam Howard for backup. According to the Kissimmee police chief, three people were in custody, while the fourth remains at large.

President Donald Trump sent his condolences in a Twitter message: "My thoughts and prayers are with the @KissimmeePolice and their loved ones", he said.

"These are beloved fathers and husbands and sons".

The circumstances that led to the shooting had not been released yet. Three of four suspects in the Kissimmee shooting were arrested.

The officers were responding to suspected drug activity reports of a suicide attempt, and serving a warrant. Police returned fired and the suspect was later pronounced dead at a local hospital, according to the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office.

The Kissimmee Police‏ Department said two officers have been shot, and one has been killed.

Also on Friday night, two police officers were shot in Jacksonville, Fla., and two state troopers were shot in Pennsylvania. Please join in prayers for families, friends, and law enforcement.

Two officers were shot in Jacksonville, Florida last night as well. One of the officers is reported to be in a critical condition.

The suspect was shot by police and later died.

Two Pennsylvania state troopers are also recovering after they were shot.

The two officers shot in Pennsylvania are in stable condition.

The officers were described as being alert and in stable condition.

Both troopers are expected to survive, ABC said of the shooting in the community of Fairchance, about 97 kilometres south of Pittsburgh.
