Microsoft to Release 'Project Scorpio' Edition of Xbox One X”

This special Xbox One X is likely a limited-run console similar to the Day One Edition that Microsoft released for the Xbox One. Apparently, the Project Scorpio name isn't as dead as we thought!

This listing appeared just hours after a listing for "Xbox One X Day One Edition" appeared on a German Amazon and then disappeared shortly thereafter.

Shannon Loftis, Microsoft Studios Publishing general manager, said the company is delaying the Xbox One and Windows PC game to give development teams Reagent Games, Sumo Digital and Cloudgine extra time to ensure a quality experience. With the Xbox One X release date imminent however, this news confirms that Crackdown 3 will no longer be supporting the console at launch. The 4K edition of the Xbox One is will be available on 7th November, with a hefty £450 price tag. Of course, as with all leaks, take it with a grain of salt. However, the star of the design has to be the "Project Scorpio" in green letters on the front of the console and the controller. Considering their proximity to Microsoft's Gamescom show, it's entirely possible that we'll see Microsoft announce this as a special "day one" console during the presentation.

This weekend, Microsoft is headed to GamesCom where they will announce a few more detail about the Xbox One X console. Although it has not been confirmed rumour has it that pre-orders will go live during, or very shortly after, the briefing.
