Trump defends social media posts: Not presidential, but modern-day presidential”

"I'm just telling you, Melania's got the worst job in the country and I don't think she wants do it a lot longer", Brzezinski said.

"The president's unhealthy obsession with our show has been in the public record for months, and we are seldom surprised by his posting nasty tweets about us", they wrote.

"The dishonest media will never keep us from accomplishing our objectives on behalf of our great American people", he added. It also has a ring of plausibility because of Trump's longtime friendship with David Pecker, chief executive officer of the Enquirer's parent company whose unabashed loyalty to Trump was reflected in its coverage of the 2016 campaign.

President Donald Trump has once again hurled personal attacks at the co-hosts of MSNBC's Morning Joe with a tweet on Saturday morning.

In a Washington Post op-ed published Friday, Brzezinski and Scarborough, who are also engaged, said Trump is "not well".

Trump uses Twitter prolifically and often as a vehicle to attack critics, including the "Morning Joe" hosts, but Thursday's tweets were seen by many as offensive. "I'm very concerned as to what this once again reveals about the president of the United States".

The leader of the free world called the morning show anchor "low I.Q. Crazy Mika" and alleged that she had attempted to visit him at his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida on New Year's Eve and was "bleeding badly from a face-lift" at the time. Scarborough said he and Brzezinski refused. "We don't have to get along, but we must show respect and civility", she said. Separately, a White House official told CNN that Scarborough had called Trump's son-in-law, Jared Kushner, about the Enquirer story and that Kushner had told Scarborough to call Trump. On Friday night's Real Time, he completely skewered Trump on his tweets.

It would likely explain why Trump tweeted on Saturday that he continues to use #social media despite being urged by Republicans and other to stop, simply because he won the election.

The billionaire has, in particular, criticized "the mad Mika to the low IQ" and "Joe the psychopath" to give a biased view of its administration to the antenna, the interested parties denouncing their side of the "insults, school yard", a president, "the drift" and questioning his mental health. "But I'm president and they're not".
