PUBG First Person Only Servers Announced for Monthly Update”

PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds hit the ground running when it was released back in March, with updates big and small coming at a steady pace since.

In an update on his personal Twitter account today, PlayerUnknown (aka Brendan Greene) confirmed that an FOV slider is in the works for the game's monthly update, landing in the next couple of weeks.

Let's hope the first person servers have been fairly perfected before going live. They'll be available in North America and Europe first, before rolling out in other regions.

Currently, PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds can be played in third-person, with the action switching to first-person for more precise control.

In reply to another user, Greene also said that Bluehole is "hard at work" improving the first-person perspective that's now in the game before launching hardcore mode. "Good news everyone! 1st person servers are coming to PUBG in our next monthly update!". The third-person view allows players to have a better look of their surroundings and check around corners for possible danger, while the first-person view is often used for engaging against enemies for better accuracy. He also notes that you'll never be forced to play hardcore servers, as they'll be entirely separate from standard servers, complete with their own queue.
