Indian parties start blame game after Amarnath terror attack

Indian parties start blame game after Amarnath terror attackā€

The bus, which came under a dastardly terror attack on Monday evening, was from Gujarat, and all pilgrims were from the same state.

"The government needs to introspect as to why, despite advanced intelligence inputs, was there a failure to prevent this attack", the opposition leaders said in a resolution adopted at a meeting convened to select their joint nominee for the vice presidential election.

Terming the terror attack on pilgrims as attack on humanity, he lampooned the Coalition Government for having grossly failed to respond appropriately to the situation created in the State in the aftermath of unholy BJP-PDP alliance and the resultant turbulence witnessed in the State.

The sit-in was organised at at Pratap Park in Lal Chowk area of the city.

"Militants fighting for self-rule in Muslim-dominated Kashmir have stepped up their attacks, increasingly backed by the local population". The pilgrims were on their way back after visiting the Amarnath shrine. However, the SHRC is yet to admit his petition. In the course of the violence, seven of those pilgrims were killed and at least 19 more were injured. "Prayers for the victims & may God give strength to the families of the #AmarnathYatra pilgrims".

"Firing was going on from all sides, so I kept driving and did not stop". He said that the permit for the yatra was acquired by him and it was cleared by the RTO in Himmatnagar.

Police blamed the Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba for the attack and said the group was trying to stoke communal discord. In 2000, 25 people - including 17 pilgrims - were killed in a terror attack in Pahalgam. We strongly condemn the attack.

Javed Mirza, cousin of Salim, said that the terrorism had no religion. However, police appreciated the role of bus driver whose decision of not stopping bus after firing resorted by terrorists saved lives of over 55 passengers.

Seven people, including six women, were killed last night when terrorists attacked their bus. However, by the time the bus was ready to resume its journey - at around 8 PM - no yatra vehicles were allowed to ply on the road without security forces as per precautionary measures as the region is considered a stronghold of the LeT and Hizbul Mujahideen.

"I first thought they were bursting firecrackers. I ducked sideways to escape the bullets and drove ahead", he told The Indian Express.

The Centre on Tuesday appealed to all pilgrims undertaking the pilgrimage to the Amarnath cave shrine to follow existing safety protocols and to cooperate with the administration.
