Are you buying the Moto Z2 Force? [Poll of the Week]

Are you buying the Moto Z2 Force? [Poll of the Week]”

With the introduction of Moto Mods, Motorola changed the way we think about and use our smartphones.

At an event in New York City today, Lenovo took to the stage to announce the Moto Z2 Force, saying that it wants to relaunch Motorola as a major smartphone brand and that it will "challenge everyone, including competitors, because we see the industry as stagnant". That sounds like a must have feature for today's phones boasting all-screen front design like the Galaxy S8. We recommend looking around, as the price is different on each carrier.

You can pre-order the Moto Z2 Force Edition now, and it will available in the USA on August 10. The Force also spells the end of the would-be "standard" Z2 model - it's Play or Force only, Motorola tells us.

Like its predecessor, the Moto Z Force, the Moto Z2 Force Edition has a display with ShatterShield technology that promises to not break. Motorola points out that you'll also be able to edit 360-degree pictures and videos directly on the devices.

This week the folks at Motorola have revealed the Moto Z2 Force Edition alongside a Moto Mod that sees the world from all angles.

The three most important aspects of this phone are the Moto Mods, dual cameras, and the shatter-proof display. Motorola claims that because it uses the MotoMod connector instead of Bluetooth it will be lag free.

Lenovo says one camera sensor is monochrome and one is color, as with the Huawei P10, and they enable some clever photography tricks such as keeping the foreground in sharp focus while the background is blurred. Within the device lies its own built-in editing software, which users can launch on the phone right from the cameras interface.

So what's new and different compared to the Moto Z or Moto Z Force released in 2016? All phones feature a SD card for expandable storage however. The global variant of the Moto Z2 Force will ship with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage, which is a welcome change from Motorola.

Verizon Communications Inc. (NYSE, Nasdaq: VZ), headquartered in New York City, has a diverse workforce of 161,000 and generated almost $126 billion in 2016 revenues. As rumored, you're only getting a 2730mAh cell this time around, significantly down from the 3500mAh beast inside the original Z Force. The phone also has support for Moto Mods, same as first generation Moto Z Phones. There's no headphone jack, however, aping the position of the Apple iPhone 7 Plus. It runs Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box.

The Moto Z2 Play is impressively slender considering its size and that's something that translates over into the design of the Moto Z2 Force. There's also a 360-degree camera, which will arrive in stores for $299.99 on August 10.
