Heat stroke vs. heat exhaustion: Warning signs you need to know”

Though the current NWS advisory ends on Sunday, ABC 7 says we might remain hot for a while, as "Looking forward into next week, this heat does not look to break. In fact, some of the hottest air in the United States will be centered over California".

The National Weather Service said a strong high-pressure weather system will bring very hot temperatures into next week. A less severe heat advisory for the remainder of Riverside County will extend from 11 a.m. today until 9 p.m. Wednesday. Highs of 92 to 102 degrees are expected over the weekend, and highs of 96 to 104 degrees are in the forecast Monday through Wednesday, according to the NWS.

High temperatures in the deserts are expected to range from 110 to 116 degrees through Sunday and from 116 to 122 degrees Monday through Wednesday.

"With high temperatures expected ... county health officials are reminding the public to ... pay extra attention to children, elderly and pets", county spokesman Tom Christensen said.

Through Friday's press deadline, the Seminole community had observed five days of 100-degree or higher temperatures, with those days occurring between June 10 and June 15.

Residents in Sacramento can expect highs of 100 degrees Friday, 103 Saturday and 106 both Sunday and Monday, according to the National Weather Service. "Couple this with extreme summer heat, no shade and rocky, unstable terrain, and many hikers quickly find themselves overwhelmed and under prepared". In 2016, rescuers responded to 51 calls to those areas.

As part of the heat advisory, forecasters warned there will be a high risk of heat stroke or other heat-related illness for those without air-conditioning or those outdoors for any extended period.
